Cross-Ice and Mite House Registration is Open!

Cross- Ice (Birth Years 2017 and 2018)

Cross-ice is designed to be a fun entry point for young boys and girls to learn hockey. This program is for kids with birth years of 2017 and 2018.  At the first practice, they should be able to stand on the ice comfortably by themselves and skate down the length of the ice at least once by themselves. While we love to teach kids how to skate, having some sort of foundation is important for your child as they get out there. The season runs from October 21st to mid-March and practices/games are held at Pilgrim Skating Arena in Hingham or Bavis Arena in Rockland.  Below is the schedule.

Saturday Games: 9:15AM, 10:15AM, 11:15AM or 12:15PM (Pilgrim)

Sunday Practice: 2PM or 3PM (Pilgrim)

Weekday Practice: Day, time and location to be announced

Optional pre-season skates TBA (2pm and 3pm at Pilgrim)

If you need a program to have your player learn how to skate, our friends at the Winterland Skating School in Rockland do an excellent job of teaching young kids how to skate.

Mite House (Birth Year 2015 and 2016)

Hingham Youth Hockey views Mite-House as one of the most fun years. This level is for players with birth years of 2015 and 2016. It’s similar to Cross-Ice where we focus on skills in small groups, but an increased emphasis on games and competition within the Hingham Youth Hockey program. The season runs from October 21st to mid-March and practices/games are held at Pilgrim Skating Arena in Hingham or Bavis Arena in Rockland. Below is the schedule.

Saturday Games: 7:15AM or 8:15AM (Pilgrim)

Sunday Practice: 1PM  (Pilgrim)

Weekday Skill Sessions: Day, time and location to be announced soon

Optional pre-season skates TBA (1PM at Pilgrim)

Similar to cross-ice, we love when new players start at this level. We just ask that they have some skating experience and are able to get around the ice by themselves.  If you need a program to have your player learn how to skate, our friends at the Winterland Skating School in Rockland do an excellent job of teaching young kids how to skate.
