I hope you have had a chance to read more about Jack’s amazing story.  If not, please find a few minutes to visit the website. www.jd55.org. And please help the cause by following them on InstagramTwitter and Facebook for updates - at jacksdrive55.

The hockey community has always been incredibly supportive in times of need, and now we are asking to help support one of our own.  Jack should be finishing up his season as a first-year bantam for HYH and getting ready for the playoffs, but unfortunately, that’s not the hand that he was dealt.  The strength and determination that he has shown over the past couple of years and the manner in which the Giorgio family has handled this is truly inspiring.  Never once has it been “Why me”?  From the beginning, their mission has been to help other families avoid having to go through this same situation.

I still remember a conversation I had with Tony this past summer, soon after Jack’s 55th week of treatment.  Along with sharing the good news about the tumor finally shrinking and explaining the significance of the number 55, Tony was so thankful for Jack’s experience in HYH.  Not just the friendships he formed but equally important the life lessons Jack learned from hockey, even by age 11, that have helped in his courageous battle.  Perseverance, grit, teamwork, camaraderie, positivity, drive, passion, sacrifice, dealing with adversity, the list goes on.  Tony just had amazing perspective, and all he wanted to do was spread the word about how important Jack’s hockey experience was and to try and help others.

Your financial contributions are obviously important to help find more effective treatments for this horrific disease, but the Giorgios are also hoping their story can raise awareness and help inspire others to pay it forward with acts of kindness - appreciating the life lessons while helping others along the way.

To help share Jack’s story and show our support, we will be handing out helmet decals with the Jack’s Drive 55 logo to every player in our program this weekend.  We also have a few exciting events in the works so please be on the lookout for more information shortly.

Thanks for reading, and thanks again to Jack and the entire Giorgio family for your inspiration!nJack's full story can be read here
