We have had a few questions come in about donating money to Matt Brown and his family. Matt is the Norwood High School hockey player who broke his C4 and C5 vertebra on January 23rd at Pilgrim. Matt has undergone surgery to stabilize those broken bones, and now has a long road of recovery ahead.   A website has been set up for Matt to learn more about him and his progress at http://www.MattBrownNumber3.org .

The most direct way to help is to donate directly to the fund Matt's family and friends have started called "Brownie Points". All donations go directly to the Brown family.  Checks can be made out to "Brownie Points" and mailed to:

An additional way to help is to join the South Shore Kings Junior Hockey team. The Kings will be holding youth events during their games against the New York Apple Core on Saturday, at 5:00 PM and on Sunday, at 11:50 AM. Saturday's game will feature a 50/50 raffle and "Noise Night" where the youth hockey teams that are present will have a chance to win a practice and a pizza party with the EJHL South Shore Kings team. The Kings players and organization will also be selling raffle tickets with the chance to win great prizes that include 2 tickets to the Beanpot final, 2 tickets to a Bruins game with a parking pass, and the grand prize: 4 tickets to the "Boardroom at the Garden", for the Bruins vs Toronto Maple Leafs game on March 4th.
